This course is for personnel who are required to work at height and covers rescue of a casualty .

  • Assessment Method: Written and practical
  • Course Duration: 2 Days
  • Trainer to Candidate Ratio: 1:6
  • Revalidation Period: Certification valid for 3 years
  • Certification: Paper/PDF copy of Certificate & Photo ID Card

Theoretical Knowledge  

  • Relevant Legislation, Legal Responsibilities
  • Anchor types and systems
  • Equipment selection, use and maintenance, pre-use checks and inspection
  • Fall Factors & Suspension Intolerance
  • Emergency Procedure / Rescue

Equipment & Rigging 

  • Harness fitting and set up
  • Rigging of rope protection systems
  • Use of Backup Systems
  • Awareness of rope and sling protection

Access Methods   

  • Use of work restraint equipment
  • Use of work positioning equipment
  • Use of fall arrest equipment


  • Rescuing a casualty after a fall
  • Suspension Intolerance and casualty management
  • Minimum Age of 18 years
  • Candidates need to be physically fit and free from any disability or medical condition that may prevent them from working safely.
  • A self-certified statement of reasonable fitness
